Third of Working Brits Crave the Return to the Office

Figures from a new study carried out by Infogrid suggest that nearly a third (32%) of working-age people in the UK want to return to their office to help support their mental health, alongside the other associated benefits.

The report which explored the evolution of the impact the pandemic has had on employees’ overall health and safety also took a further look at tools and technologies available in supporting employers and their employees.

Tools such as CO2 monitors and occupancy sensors that monitor and manage ventilation and associated virus risk are all aimed at supporting physical workplace health and help boost the confidence of those returning to their place of work.

Mental health was not the only reason for employees seeking a return to the office. Around 35% of those surveyed said they wanted to return to a positive social environment with a further 26% advising having a reason to leave their house being a positive factor. Financial factors also played a role with 25% stating a return to the office would alleviate concerns about being cold at home.

With numerous benefits associated with group working such as increased workplace performance and productivity the research also found that around 63% of UK employees valued having access to a physical workplace with the option of a hybrid working model.
