Just over six months since launching, Dr Jacqualine Seckley, founder and Managing Director of HealthHubble was interviewed by Roma Widger on her weekly BCfm magazine show, yesterday morning.

Now in its 13th year of broadcasting, BCfm is a community radio station based in Bristol, who serve the local community but also shared worldwide via their online streaming service with listener numbers average around 10,000 each day.

In her detailed interview, Jacqualine covered the launch of the new platform in April, which allows members of the general public the opportunity to search for health and wellness services throughout the UK.  With the focus on ease for visitors to the website being able to search a wide range of disciplines, the aim is to connect members of the general public directly to health and wellbeing specialists who can provide expert help and support.

Traction in the business’s growth has seen a swell in listed businesses across the site, originally commencing with just 75 in April to just shy of 20,000 in November2020.  Dr Seckley advised that the premature launch of the new online hub was in response to the pandemic and in a bid to allow those seeking online consultations able to connect with their chosen professional.

‘There is a real spotlight on health at the moment with Covid and it’s really influenced what we have done, so our initial plan was to launch throughout the summer of 2020.  Actually we weren’t necessarily ready to launch in April when we did but we made a really quick decision to essentially just turn on our website, so it wasn’t completely developed but we launched with 75 businesses which were Doctors, Physios and Counsellors that people could find during lockdown and where they could get a video consultation to help them at a time of real difficulty where access was a rea problem for so many people – and that’s why we launched.’

However, growth within the platform is set to soar and is now supported with over 50 articles written individually by health and wellbeing specialists.  From physiotherapists, nutritionists, orthopaedic surgeons and pharmacists to name just a few professions; the in-depth compendium covers a wide spectrum which can easily be shared by visitors to the website.  Jacqualine paid special thanks to all those who had contributed including Nutritionist Olivia Palmer, Life Coach and Psychosomatic Therapist Julia Martinez and Personal Trainer, Andrew Dorey.  All of HealthHubble’s professional authors can be found within the Meet the Author are of the website, thus providing the link to the experience and expertise offered in each article.

The interview covered Jacqueline’s journey into healthcare, and how the loss of her parents early on in her life was the driving force to her extensive career and her passion for emergency medicine.  Now having a family with two young daughters and partner to Bristol based serial entrepreneur Steve Crowe; who founded an international based company, Yachting Pages Media Group, which has previously won The Queen’s Enterprise Award for International Trade.  HealthHubble’s sister company has been in business for 17 years now and is an industry leader within its field.

With a fusion of her medical career and entrepreneurial spirit, Dr Seckley is firmly in the driving seat of HealthHubble; which with its agile nature is set to further inspire our appetite to lead healthier lifestyles.
