How Do We Work Together?

I place you at the heart of everything we do. Each session is tailored to your own individual and specific needs. Where each client’s journey is unique, you can expect some simple but effective ways in which I will support you:

  1. Together we carve out weekly 50 minute sessions where we work towards your desired outcomes. These can either be online, where we also send you a recording of your session to replay as desired, or they can take place face-to-face
  2. Each emotional Therapeutic Counselling and NLP session is formulated around your unique personal history
  3. I deliver results using interactive and creative talking therapy
  4. I support each of my clients with a comprehensive package of support for mind, body and emotions, which may also include:
    • Relevant books
    • Self-care journal
    • Additional self-care tools
    • On request additional 30-minute support call available within 48 hours of request (Monday -Friday 9 am – 5 pm) per month

I am registered with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and my continued registration is a testament to my continual personal development in delivering the latest informed approaches to Counselling and NLP.

I undertake mandatory continuing professional development which ensures best practice, and I report to and am monitored by a supervisor to ensure I am fit to practice and adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Foundation for Emotional Therapeutic Counselling.

I have a clear understanding of the professional boundaries and the sanctity of the Therapeutic Relationship which only exists within the counselling session and safeguards you, the client. How quickly can I feel the benefits of therapy?

Many of my clients find that by taking the first steps and talking about how they feel, they start to feel more in control. If you have been feeling anxious, depressed or struggling with trauma, think how long you’ve been feeling this way. Seeking professional help is a huge step in the direction of feeling calmer, in control and feeling more balanced.

Each session is tailored to your individual situation to ensure that your most immediate feelings and needs are supported.

I’m not sure about online sessions. Are these as effective as face-to-face consultations?

My wide range of clients tells me that once they’ve tried online sessions, they love them. Why? Well quite simply it’s more convenient to fit around your schedule, there are no associated commuting times or added pressure or inconvenience that this may cause. Each session is carefully planned and delivered to you within the comfort of your own home. Following each online session, I can send you a secure recording which many of my clients find helpful to review in the days after their appointment.

What if I find it difficult to talk about my feelings?

Thinking about talking to someone about how you feel can conjure up feelings of overwhelm. Know that this doesn’t just affect you – lots of people feel the same way. With Emotional Therapeutic Counselling I use a number of techniques and creative tools that can be used to help you release feelings in a controlled way. We work with the emotions that you bring to therapy rather than your mind.
