CEO & Founder

Steve Crowe

Hi, I’m Steve, partner to Jacqualine and father of our two wonderful girls, reluctant gardener, avid cyclist, swimmer and lover of all things marketing.

Here’s my story:

I’m also the Co-Founder and CEO of HealthHubble which is my fourth directory company in the last twenty years.

I was born at home and grew up in Dartford, Kent alongside my two brothers and went to Catholic primary and secondary schools. My mother was a Nurse and my father worked in London for Thames Water. Dad worked all day whilst mum looked after us and then worked nights to help pay the bills and for our annual caravanning holiday to Devon or Cornwall. My parents finally retired to Ilfracombe in North Devon in 1995 and sadly less than a year later my mother suddenly died of a brain tumour.

Over the years, I’ve also lost several other family members to Cancer which spurred me on to help organise, market, fundraise and participate in three Cogs 4 Cancer charity cycle rides. Each ride lasted five or six days and was about 1,000km long. By the end of the third ride, we had raised over €1,000,000 for Cancer Research UK and local Cancer palliative care facilities in France. Since I got the cycling bug I’ve also participated in Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco’s COCC Foundation and more recently in the Blue Marine Foundation that looks after the world’s oceans. Raising money for worthy charities quickly helps you forget painful legs, shoulders and bottoms.

I left school at 18. One of my first jobs was in a hospital, my favourite part of my role being the interaction with the patients whilst giving out the tea and biscuits after cleaning the toilets! Since my hospital career ended I’ve worked for several Blue Chip companies spanning retail, logistics, pharmaceuticals, insurance and directories for a large UK media company.

In September 2000 I found myself on a campsite in the South of France. I was planning to become a ski bum but quickly realised the opportunities that a massive ex-pat community and the superyacht industry presented. Consequently started my first directory “the English Yellow Pages” for the French Riviera. This evolved into Yachting Pages, which quickly became the global leader in the superyacht industry, helping captains and crew find the right suppliers wherever they are in the world.

For the past twenty years, I’ve really enjoyed helping people find the services or businesses they need, whilst at the same time gaining great satisfaction from getting businesses the marketing and advertising results they deserve. A priority for me is building a good relationship with customers which has led to many of my early customers have become my good friends. I’ve been kissed more than a few times by super happy French men grateful for the results we’ve generated for their businesses!

Travelling throughout Europe and living in France has given me a fantastic opportunity to see how other healthcare systems work. One of the primary differences that they benefit from is faster access to a wide range of healthcare services.

The last twenty years have certainly been a journey, we’ve helped thousands of people find the services they need and thousands of businesses generate the clients they need to thrive. Along the way, we’ve also received the Queen's Award for Enterprise from Her Majesty the Queen - the highest official award for a UK Business. Our mission is to bring the same success to our HealthHubble users and customers.
